Editorial policy
What we will and will not publish, where every fact has to come from, and what happens when we get one wrong.

This page is the standard we hold ourselves to. It is short on purpose — a policy nobody reads protects nobody.
Independence
- No paid placements, ever. No brand has paid to appear on this site, and none will. If that ever changed, this page would change first and every affected page would say so.
- No free product accepted. We hold no inventory and have received nothing from any manufacturer.
- Commission does not move a ranking. Positions come from the Keep Score, which is computed from published specifications and has no input for what anything costs or pays.
- We recommend things we do not earn from. Several watches on this site are sold direct by their makers rather than on Amazon. We say so, link the maker, and earn nothing.
Sourcing
Every factual claim on this site has to be traceable to a document a reader could open. In practice that means:

We do not cite other affiliate sites' specification tables, AI-generated spec listings, or aggregator pages. Specifications come from the manufacturer or they do not get published.
Claims we will not make
- That we tested, wore, owned or handled a watch. We have not.
- That anyone here holds a credential they do not hold. There is no certified watchmaker on this site.
- A price, rating or review count that did not come from a live lookup on the day you are reading.
- A star rating or review marked up as structured data for a product we have not reviewed as a product.
- That a watch is available somewhere we have not checked it is available.
Corrections
We publish specifications and arithmetic, which means we will eventually publish an error. When we do:
- We fix it as soon as it is confirmed.
- We note the correction on the affected page rather than silently editing it.
- We update the page's "last updated" date so you can see it moved.
- If the correction changes a ranking, we say that it changed a ranking.
To report one, email info@dialandlug.com with the page and what is wrong. A link to the manufacturer document that contradicts us is the fastest possible route to a fix.
Updates and freshness
Roundups are reviewed at least every six months, and off-cycle whenever a watch is discontinued, leaves Amazon, or has its warranty or service terms changed by the manufacturer. A page's date changes only when its content changes — we do not re-stamp the site on deploy. Two of the largest sites in this category were last updated in 2022 and 2023 while still ranking; freshness is only an advantage if it is real.
Who is accountable
Everything here is written by Sawyer V. and published by Fathom & Foundry. There is no anonymous byline on this site and no ghost-written content. If a page is wrong, one person is responsible for it, and you can reach them directly.
