100m of water resistance on an open-dial watch is unusual and it is what makes this one wearable rather than careful — most of the category stops at 30m. Add sapphire, an 80-hour Powermatic 80 and a 40mm case at 11.5mm thick and the specification sheet stops being a compromise.
Tissot publishes what a complete service of a mechanical watch costs in the United States: $210, with a 24-month warranty on the work. Almost nobody in this style tells you that before you buy. The 21mm lug width is the one annoyance.
The quick-release bracelet is the detail worth paying for: this is one of the few Swiss automatics at this level you can re-strap in thirty seconds without a tool.
