Buy the PRX if you want the thinnest option and like the integrated bracelet — 10.93mm, but you keep that bracelet for the life of the watch.

These are the two Tissot automatics people cross-shop most, and on the numbers they are nearly the same watch: 40mm, sapphire, 100m, an 80-hour Powermatic-family movement and the same $210 published service with 24 months of warranty on the work.

The decision is about the bracelet. The PRX's is part of the case design, which is why the watch looks the way it does and why no strap will ever fit it. The Gentleman has ordinary lugs, which is less striking and far more flexible.

The Bambino is what gets suggested when both Tissots look expensive, and Version 9 is the one that shows why price is not the only axis.

14.2mm thick on a watch rated 30m, under a domed mineral crystal that cannot be polished back. Against 10.93mm and 100m, it is a different class of object under a cuff.

At 14.2mm this is the thickest Bambino here, which is what a day-date-24h module costs you in height. Worth it only if you will actually read all three.

The integrated bracelet, honestly

An integrated bracelet is not a strap that happens to be metal. The first link is shaped into the case, so the watch has no conventional lugs and no spring-bar gap for a standard strap. That is what gives the PRX its uninterrupted line, and it is a genuine design achievement at this price.

It is also permanent. If the bracelet does not fit your wrist well, or you decide in three years that you want leather, the answer is to sell the watch. Our lug width guide lists which watches on this site take no standard strap at all — the PRX is one of them.

Dial decoration and how watches date

The Gentleman's open heart cuts an aperture in the dial to show the balance wheel. It is well executed, and it is the sort of feature that reads as contemporary now and dated later — the same argument this site makes against skeleton dials on watches meant to be kept.

The PRX's dial is plain by comparison, though its case is the more fashion-driven of the two. Neither is wrong; they date in different directions.

Which to buy

If this is your one smart watch, take the Gentleman — the ability to put it on leather for a wedding and steel for the office is worth more over a decade than half a millimeter. If it is joining a collection and you want the thinnest, best-looking version of this idea, the PRX is the more distinctive object.
