Best dive watches for large wrists

Sapphire and a stated two-year warranty at this price is a good trade. 15mm thick and 50mm across the lugs is not — this is a big watch, and the spec sheet says so plainly.

A 44mm case in Citizen's Super Titanium, which is both lighter than steel and surface-hardened against the scratches titanium normally collects. On a large wrist the weight saving is the difference between wearing it all day and taking it off.

Light-powered, so there is no winding and no battery change, and Citizen's five-year warranty is the longest on this page. 200m with a 22mm strap width that takes anything.

A mineral crystal at this price is the clear weak point — it will scratch where sapphire would not, and it cannot be polished back. Citizen publishes neither a lug-to-lug nor a thickness for this reference.

Citizen's Super Titanium is surface-hardened, which is the point — plain titanium marks more easily than steel, and this does not. It is the closest thing on this list to a watch you can stop thinking about.
