The 4R36 hacks, hand-winds and carries the cheapest published overhaul price in watchmaking. On nylon it weighs 94 grams against 170 on the bracelet, which is the difference between wearing a watch and noticing one.
The hard coating takes the first year of marks instead of the steel. Like every coating it is a wear layer rather than a permanent gain, but at this price it is a fair trade.
Same 4R36 and the same $176 published service price as every other 5 Sports, with a hard coating on the case that takes the first year of scuffs instead of the steel.
